Reihe: Research in Contemporary Religion

RCR stimulates the international scientific discourse on contemporary religion. The contributions in RCR aim at profiling the widely branched and specialized scientific discourse on religion by investigating contemporary religious phenomena from empirical and culture-analytical perspectives within theology and the study of religion. An integral part of this is both the critical discussion of the changing roles of churches and religious organizations in our pluralized cultures and the perception of new religious phenomena within and without structured forms of religion.
RCR presents basic discourses and specific investigations in various disciplines dealing with religion, particularly practical theology but also ethics, systematic theology and the study of religions and other related fields like anthropology and the sociology of religion. Although RCR focuses primarily on contemporary phenomena, it encourages also historical approaches to present aspects of
religion and religions.
The series is edited by Hans-Günter Heimbrock (Frankfurt), Daria Pezzoli-Olgiati (Zürich), Bryan P. Stone (Boston), Heinz Streib (Bielefeld), Claire Wolfteich (Boston) and Trygve Wyller (Oslo).
It is open for publications both in English and German.
